On January 10, 2007, Mark Ralph (Victim) was confronted in front of his home in
North Miami Beach and was severely beaten unconscious by several black males armed
with sticks. As a result, Ralph was taken to the Ryder Trauma Center where he
remained in a comatose state.
Det. Rand investigated this case and
continued to run back and forth from the hospital checking on his victim’s condition.
After a month of knocking on doors in the neighborhood and interviewing individuals,
Det. Rand made an arrest in this case. The victim has come out of the coma and is
doing better.
For Detective Rand's persistence and compassion our
