Help Complete A Mission For A Camp
Simcha Special Camper.
She is our neighbor

Dear Friends,

I would like to begin by expressing my utmost thanks to those amazing individuals who sponsored me last year. Because of your generous contributions, I was able to raise close to $6,000, ultimately making it possible to send campers to Chai Lifeline’s Camp Simcha/Special this past summer. Being a Camp Simcha Special veteran, I can honestly say that you have given these campers the opportunity to experience “heaven on earth.” The invaluable friendships and everlasting memories created there provide many of us with the strength to continue persevering through our chronic challenges.

I was born with a rare genetic disorder called Morquio Syndrome Type 4A. Living with this disorder makes it difficult for me to walk and causes me to suffer from intense pain. Therefore, even the simplest daily activities which are easily done by most are extremely difficult, if not impossible, for me. Camp Simcha Special introduced me to a whole new world, a world where I belong and thrive. I met some of the most remarkable people there; campers who have been through so much and bear the unbearable, yet still smile wider and laugh harder than most people I know.

Camp Simcha Special are summer programs run by Chai Lifeline. Chai Lifeline is a not-for-profit-organization designed to help those who were born or diagnosed with serious life-threatening illnesses. Their outreach and help also extends to the family members, leaving no one behind. Camp Simcha is there for children who are diagnosed with cancer, while Camp Simcha Special is there for children who have chronic and life-threatening illnesses. Children wait patiently for summer to arrive and count down the days to attend camp.

Last year, I was privileged to have been pushed in a wheel chair for the Chai Lifeline Las Vegas and Miami half marathon. G-d has given me another chance to give back to this amazing organization that has done so much for me and my family. I will be participating in Team Lifeline, representing Chai Lifeline in the Miami, Florida’s half Marathon. On January 31, 2010, a fellow participant in the half marathon will push me in my wheelchair. By doing this, I will be able to show my appreciation to Chai Lifeline for all they have done and continue to do for me.

However, in order to do so I will need your help to raise $3,600 by December 31, 2009. All donations are 100% tax deductible. If your company has a matching gift program, your gift may be doubled or tripled. Please contribute, either by mailing me a check payable to Chai Lifeline at: Sarah Solomon 17410 NE 12th Avenue, North Miami Beach, Florida 33162, or by visiting my personal Team Lifeline Website at: http://www.teamlifeline.org/mypage.php?myid=56364. Please note that this money is going to Tzedaka (charity, ma’aser money is allowed to be used.)

Thank you for supporting me and helping me reach my goal. May your life be filled with health, happiness and success.

Thank you for your contribution,
Sarah Solomon

P.S. Please feel free to forward this to anyone who might be interested in supporting Chai Lifeline. Any further questions feel free to call me at (786) 663-4770
